The Challenge:

The core challenge was to revive the cultural legacy of the Adidas Superstar shoe, whose relevance was fading with a new generation. We couldn't rely on nostalgia. We had to authentically reconnect the brand to its roots in music subculture, while addressing the vital need for a platform for emerging UK talent, following cuts to UK Arts funding.

The Solution:

We took the creative solution directly from the shoe’s most iconic feature: its three stripes. In collaboration with Grime legend Kano, we built an innovative mobile platform that removed three bars from his latest track, challenging artists to fill the sonic gap with their own voice.

This transformed a mobile phone into a personal recording studio, giving unheard talent the "Superstar treatment" and a direct path to the mainstream.

The Impact:

This simple, elegant solution did more than sell shoes, it made the unattainable attainable, democratising music and provided a genuine platform for thousands of new voices. The campaign generated a powerful response in just two weeks, leading to over 10 million impressions and over 37,500 studio sessions. Most importantly, the project successfully launched one unheard artist to global stardom, cementing the Superstar's legacy as a true champion of originality.
